“Let's talk about three recent jobs I've completed in NorthGeorgiaMountain Estate, for a Morningside couple and for two 1924 Victrolas.
We’ll start with the NorthGeorgiaMountain Estate project, which was a fun and rewarding job that included nine very impressive, big, bold, European antiques. They included a highly carved hunt board, cupboard with leaded glass upper, settee, leaded glass bookcase, two beds, marble top washstand and chest of drawers. It was a large project leading to very satisfied and happy clients.
Secondly, a sweet couple living in the Morningside area of Atlanta are repeat customers and I've had the pleasure of working on many pieces for them. Most recently, I restored and repaired a hall tree with missing/loose trim and pet damage, along with a gorgeous tiger oak pedestal table and six chairs. I repaired the support structure at the base of the pedestal, repaired the leaf glides and mended loose or missing veneer on the top of the table. The six chairs were completely re-glued, cleaned and waxed. One chair was stained to match the finish on the remaining set of chairs.
The third project involved a pair of 1924 Victrolas. An antique dealer client of mine was lucky enough to get his hands on them. He hired me to restore one and to repurpose the second. I resourced parts from both of the units to make one working cabinet. We decided the other Victrola would be a fantastic liquor cabinet or mini bar. I always love up-cycling and repurposing vintage pieces for a creative and functional purpose! The dealer was especially pleased to have made a smart investment into two profitable antiques.”
